In Episode 281 of the Further Your Lifestyle podcast, host Chris answers a listener question about what single issue in business or life could unlock the next level if solved properly. He shares that his current challenge is priority management—creating stronger boundaries and learning to switch off from his business so he can rest, return energized, and generate new ideas. Chris explains how running and personal challenges help him separate from work, and he suggests using a simple filter—continue, delegate, or stop—to reduce what’s on your plate in both life and business. He emphasizes building an outlet or hobby for balance, taking breaks like travel to recharge, and not neglecting daily responsibilities and loved ones. From a business perspective, he notes inventory as the key lever to stay competitive as eBay Live becomes more saturated.

And it's look, it's just come in the last, they don't they don't need to be given credit for the who sent in the in the question or whatever. But I think it's a really good question, and I think it's relevant to well, you can answer the question in so many different frameworks or so many different perspectives. And I think it's really good, and I'm grateful for
it. Before we get into it, before I give you the question that we're going to be answering today, if you do enjoy these episodes, please make sure you do hit like, subscribe, and follow along. You can also jump down into the comments below here on the YouTube and continue the conversation if you want to continue the conversation after this little conversation. So
today's topic, the question that is being asked that I'm gonna kind of dive into, and I'll probably reframe it a little bit, but what's one thing in your business or life right now that feels like it could unlock the next level if you solved it properly? Great, great question. We're gonna we're gonna answer this one off the cuff. I have not thought about it. Yeah, we're gonna roll the intro. Let's get into it.
So, what's one thing in my business or life right now that feels like it could unlock the next level if I solved it properly? Now, I don't want to really get too much into the business side because I know I do talk a lot of business, and I want to bring this back to like the reality of just for trying to further your lifestyle. And I think this is this is this is a tough one, but it's it's the reality of it is it's like it's something that I think we should be thinking about so much more obvious, like on a on a regular base basis. And obviously, when we're doing that, it's probably gonna reveal a lot more answers for us. But I think for me personally, what's one thing in my life right now that feels like it could unlock the next level for you if you solved it properly? I think I think priority management at the moment, I'm I'm in between the I guess the wrestle and challenge of trying to keep a strong balance in my life. I mean, I've been trying to build out building my lifestyle that I want, building a business to suit my lifestyle, and making sure that I have a very strong, firm balance boundary. Now that's easier said than done because when I when I work in my business, I'm constantly on. Like I might work Monday to Friday. Sure, I might not be at the business, but I come home and I'm constantly thinking about it. Just because it's it's my baby, it's it's my thing, it's my passion, it's my joy, it's the thing that I'm building. And I think for me in my in my life, if I'm able to be able to find a way to be able to switch off, it's going to enable me to be able to have more downtime and be able to probably come back more energetic, refreshed, motivated, and think of new ideas.
Now, a lot of the time I do this through running. Over the last two years, I had an injury and I've only really gotten back into the running since maybe the last three, four, five months. And that's been really great because it's been able to give me the opportunity to separate and it gives me something to work towards personally. Previously, back when I was building my business, I was also trying to train for ultra marathon, and that gives me not only a challenge to build personally, but a challenge to build in my business. And it helps just get me separated out of these mentalities of just isolation to building a business versus just trying to get my life better. So having that separation has really, really helped. But I think the thing the other thing is is like being able to find ways to improve my work, my workflow, my workforce, my daily work intake, so it gets off my plate. And that's through you can go through the systems of like, okay, do I need to continue doing this? Do I need to delegate doing this? Or do I need to stop doing this? And that applies for both business and life. If you're feeling that you're in a point in your life right now where you're not really getting the things that you want, maybe it does come down to priorizer prioritization of like where are you spending your time, how are you spending your time, and what could you be doing more of, or what could you be doing less of? And I don't think it's a simple answer that it will just solve all my problems. I think for me, when I do take rest, even though it's so hard to kind of switch off, I do come back motivated,
I come back refreshed, and I come back ready to rock and roll. Every year we I mean, I usually take time off anyway. Like last year I went to the Philippines, got married as well, but that was really good to switch off, and then I've come back and I'm refueled, ready to go. And we're we're about to go to Japan again, actually. Sorry, we're about to go away and we're going to Japan for the first time. And that's going to be an exciting opportunity because again, chance to switch off. There will be a level of communication that I'm going to have to have for the business while I'm away. But it's a chance to kind of switch off and not think about it and hopefully come back refreshed. And again, having that separation, those boundaries, and giving yourself that ability to take a break, to have balance, to do the things that you want to do.
Now, if you're not maybe working in a business and have your own business and you're just working full-time and you have your personal life, I think it's really important to build a structure into your life which gives you the ability to have an outlet, be it through running, be it through a hobby, be it through video games, be it through gardening, be it through whatever it may be, a sport or an exercise, just finding that little passion on the side that you can escape with to give you the ability to just switch off and become encompassed by. But at the same time, you still need to make sure you do have that balance because there's things that you want to do in your personal life, like dreams, aspirations. There's things that you might have in your career or your business life that you have, the career aspirations or your business aspirations, dreams, goals, etc., etc. There's also the reality of just living life and the things that you are required, just the daily chores, health and maintenance of yourself, of your where you live, and making sure that you're taking care of the ones around you, your loved ones, your dependents, etc. And not to neglect those things. So it is a big stretch of what requires your attention. So I think being able to continue to refine that prioritization of making sure that my time is being spent exactly where it needs to be spent. And sometimes spending the time to relax and take a break is important.
Now, if I was to look at this from the perspective of business, I'm not going to go into heaps of detail. I think I could do a whole episode on it, but what's one thing in your business right now that feels it could unlock the next level if you solved it properly? I think for us right now, it would be inventory. We get a lot of inventory, but now because the the game is changing, it's eBay live has taken huge components of our business now, and it's starting to get saturated. So it's not about okay, we we we have the systems to be able to do the lives, we have more team members helping with the lives. It's now about how do we stay competitive, how do we bring the best stuff to our customers so that other competitors cannot pace with us? That would really be the game changer for us. But yeah, that's
for me. Look, I'm gonna ask you the question: what's one thing in your business right now or one thing in your life right now that feels like it could unlock the next level if you solved it properly? What is it? Let me know down in the comments below. I would love to continue the conversation. That's it for me, folks. Real short and sweet, but I think it's a great conversation to be having with ourselves. We'll be back here again next week, doing it all again. I'll see you when I'm looking at you at the channel.
