SPEAKER_00:

Yo yo yo, welcome back to the Feather Your Lifestyle Podcast Conversations on Lifestyle, Passions, and Hustles. My name's Chris. I am your host, and I'm super excited to be back here having the conversation with you. Episode 245 today, and we're continuing on from the last couple of episodes where we're talking about, you know, you having your best year yet, and maybe that looks a little bit different and what that looks like in actually getting it happening. And the reason why this episode exists is because I've been here before. You've you started a new year, you feel like, yep, this is great, you feel like you're getting your groove, but maybe it's still not sticking. And you're you're starting to doubt, you know, are you capable of this? Do you have what it takes? And that's the whole theme of this episode. You've got more than you think, right? It's gonna be a reminder that what you already have, know, and are might be exactly what you've actually been seeking for elsewhere. And the question we should be asking ourselves, and that's this is the premise of the episode, what if you're not missing anything? What if the the version of yourself right now, you know, you're feeling tired, maybe you're feeling unsure, you feel like you may be in progress, but maybe it already holds more than you've given it credit for. That's what we're tapping into today. And I've been there, I've I've felt it, I've experienced it, and I still do on a regular basis. So I want to tell you, you're not alone. We're gonna go through it today. If you enjoy these episodes, make sure you hit subscribe. You can even leave a comment and we continue the conversation. But if you think someone else needs to hear this because maybe they're in the same situation, send it to them. Let them know, keep them honest, and let them know that they need to have a listen to this. And hopefully we can help them. I'm just laughing because I could just imagine you've sent it to someone, they're now listening to this, and here I am telling them that some of that I told them to send it. Anyway, you get the point. We're gonna roll the intro and let's get into it. So there is there is this big myth around not doing enough. Now we've been trained to look outside of ourselves. Everywhere you go in our entirety of life, unfortunately, we're always compelled to compare. We see the person that has something else, we we see something that we like that we're attracted to, and we think, oh, I would really like that, but I can't afford it. Oh, I wish I could do this. Oh, these people traveled over there, oh, they're flying business class, or that person's business better than me. Oh, that person got the promotion, all these different things. It's it's so it's so unfair because the pressure is everywhere. You know, we we start to build these excuses or these things in our minds where we say, once I have more time, once I have more money, once I have more knowledge, then I'll be able to do to do this thing. But, but, but, but, but what if we just pause for a moment and looked at what we've already got? Like what's the hand that's being dealt? What are the things that we have? And I think sometimes the next step isn't about getting more. It's using what you already have, using it differently, but using what you have more. And this is going to be a short and sharp episode, really, to just help you take some responsibility, take some accountability, and have a, you know, look under the hood check. That's what we need to do. We need to have an inventory check, we need to have a look under the hood and see what's in your hands. What have you actually got in front of you? And I'm talking like your experiences, your emotional IQ, all these different things, right? You want to look back and reflect on well, you know, what were some of your hardest days you've had in the past? Those real bad days, the days that you wish they didn't exist, but you compare them to now and you realize, hang on, I survived that. That's resilience. Right there, that's resilience. The next one is you've done some hard things, right? You've you've had to overcome some challenges, you've had to solve some problems, right? But here you are now, those problems are solved. That's that's proof of strength, right? You see, already you've got resilience, you've got strength, you've learned from mistakes. In the past, you've made mistakes. Hopefully, now you you can reflect back and think, oh, actually, well, you know, we fixed that, no longer have to worry about that. I'm on the right path, or I've got a better job now, or those times have changed. That's growth. Well done. See, it ain't all that bad. And then, you know, maybe you've helped others, maybe you've listened to someone else, maybe someone gave you a call. And I I'm not talking about in the last week, I'm talking about your whole entirety of life, right? If you've helped someone else, that's wisdom. So my point is you've actually you're actually doing better than you expect. You've got capabilities better than you expect. So I want you to do this. I want you to take three minutes, you can pause the episode and write this stuff down. Now, if you're driving, obviously you might have to come back to this, but write it down. Three things you've overcome in the past, any period of time. Three skills that you've built, whether it's communication, whether it's problem solving, whatever it may be. Excuse me. Yawning. And then write three things people came to you for help with. Right? Reach out to you, hey, can you help me with this? Maybe maybe they needed help with your computer. Maybe they didn't know how to lift something, whatever it may be. Write three things down. Do that, and then we're gonna come back to it. And there's probably more than this, right? If there's more, you can put them down. But we're focusing on three in three minutes. All right, next thing that we want to do is understand this, is you know, you're not starting from scratch. Just because, you know, other people are doing all the things that you think you want to be doing and they look more successful and all that, even if you've got to, you know, take a moment and you're changing paths. Maybe you've changed career, maybe you've had to change some goals, maybe you're trying to get a new rhythm again. You're not starting from zero. It might seem from zero in terms of this is fresh, but this ain't your first rodeo, right? You've got experience. You've got, you get to bring every lesson with you, you get to bring every scar with you and every spark with you as well. When I start from zero in a new year, yeah, I'm terrified because now I'm going to go see if I can do what I just did because especially if it was your best year yet, you want to go do that again and more. But I've got all the lessons, I've got all the experiences, I've got all the problems I solved, and I know how to solve them going forward. I've got, you know, new skills, new equipment, new tools, new assets, new people in my life, new connections, all these different things. They're all things we can leverage, right? And if you leverage them, I'm talking whether it's personally, business, whatever, you will thrive. So when we start to reframe all of this, right? Yeah, things seem ordinary. We seem like a nobody, but really the things that you're doing at the moment, you need to start to look at them from a different perspective. Maybe you were in a job where it's that's not really where you want to be for the rest of your life. That's okay. It's a training ground. It's a point in your life where you've got to learn to be resilient, learn to have the strength, learn to get the job done, and you'll build that momentum, you'll build that accountability, that responsibility, gives you experience. If I didn't do the job that I had 10 years before doing this business that I have, I would not be able to be as successful as I am. Simple as that, because I learned so much there. There was things I didn't like, but there was things that I loved, and in the end result is I'm grateful for it because it got me to where I needed to be. Your past failure is your foundation for a better version of yourself. If you've made mistakes in the past, you know how to skip them, miss them, and you also now know now how to teach them to other people to avoid. So you've got experience, you've got wisdom, right? So we also should look at just because you're starting, you know, to change things up, you're going to be looking at things differently, even if it feels boring, right? This is the stuff that becomes the launch pad. And what I mean by that example is when it comes to launching a rocket, you have to follow a sequence of events. It has to be exactly the same. It's probably a horrible, boring sequence of events. It might take 20 minutes, 30 minutes, and then you've got the countdown. But if you do it, and if you do it right, you have a successful launch and things go to plan, right? So you've got to trust the process, you've got to trust the reps, you've got to trust the routine, you've got to trust doing the work. Sometimes we don't need the leap, right? You don't need to wake up and have this overnight success. You just need to actually look again and understand that things are successful. And as you progress, you will build that momentum. And then other people think it's an overnight success simply because you become new to them overnight. You've been around for 20 years, 10 years, 30 years, you've been chipping away. But to them, they think, where'd this guy come from? He just came out of nowhere. No, you came blazing, you've been running the long run. That's okay. So we're gonna wrap it up and I'm gonna read this out to you because I think this thing this is really important. If you're feeling behind, or maybe you're lacking, or you feel underqualified, just pause for a moment, right? Just yeah. And you might just be underestimating yourself. You've got experience, you've got time, and you've got a heartbeat. So go build something from that. A lot of the time we overthink our capabilities and our ability to actually just make things happen. Simply because we we forget about the simple things. We forget about that we have experience for our last, you know, however old you are, you've been alive for that long. You know the difference between good and bad. You know you've made some mistakes, but you know how to avoid those mistakes, right? You've got a heartbeat, you're kicking butt, you're alive, you're doing things. Make use of that. I hope, I hope this has been motivating for you. And I know sometimes this can feel cliched, it's oh, it's another wishy-washy, but for those people that are feeling that way, that's because you're not willing, you're not willing to have the tough conversations with yourself. And if you're not willing to have the tough conversations with you, you're gonna have tough circumstances ahead of you. That's as simply as it is. I'm gonna leave you with one more check-in. What do you already have that you haven't fully used, appreciated, or leveraged? It could actually be something that is of an asset, like not even yours. But I'm talking probably more so in this case, what's a skill that you have, or maybe something you've taken for granted, or maybe you haven't really been taking the most leverage of. Write that down or let me know in the comments down below. Would love to continue the conversation. Take this episode, run with it. It's been 10 minutes, which is short and sharp, go, go, go. And that's what we want. We want to equip you, we want you to get out there and make it happen. So go get out there today, do the thing you need to do, reflect, and think about those things. And if you haven't done that three-minute pause, go do the three minute pause after this. Appreciate you being here. We'll be back here again next week. Take it easy, folks. Ciao.
