Yo yo yo, welcome back to the Feather Your Lifestyle Podcast Conversations on Lifestyle, Passions, and Hustles. My name's Chris. I'm your host, and I'm super excited to be back here having the conversation with you. Episode 240 today, and we're continuing on with these short, sharp, snippet kind of episodes, really just to help you finish up this year strong, going through just a couple of things that maybe we can think about, that we can plan for, that we can reflect on, and give you maybe a new approach or a new perspective or a new way to think about some things as you do come to the end of this year, um, and as you move into the new year. Now, of course, at the time of me filming this, it is 2025. But if you're listening to this later down the line, it still applies to whatever season, whatever area of your life you're moving into, whether it's literally a new year, whether it's a new month, or maybe it is a new, you know, a new time or new era in your life. And today's topic, we're gonna be talking about what will you leave behind in 2025. But you know, the the details down below behind this, like in terms of the things that we're gonna explore today, they are relevant to no matter where you are at whatever time you are in your journey. So the theme around it is is kind of like, and the topic that we're gonna chat about is, you know, not what will you do in the next year or in 2026, but what are you done with from 2025? The idea is so what are we letting go of? What are we getting rid of? And what beliefs, habits, or excuses are no longer here to serve you, and what can you let go of in terms of lightening the load as you move forward into a new season? And what are you ready to outgrow? So that's what we're gonna be talking about today. Get yourself cozy. And if you do enjoy these episodes, I would greatly appreciate if you can share it to someone else, get them the message that we're trying to get out here and help them further their lifestyle. But also, if you want to continue the conversation, you can jump down in the comments down below. More than happy to do so. You can either share your aspirations, the things you're working on or doing, or really just talk about the topics of what we've just discussed today. So we're gonna roll the intro, let's get into it. So, as I said, and I and I think I think this is really important that you know today's topic is not necessarily attached or just focused on 2025-2026. It is that it obviously it's the time of the year that I'm filming this. Now I'm filming this way in advance by the time this episode will come out. This episode's come out on the 30th of November 2025, and I'm filming it all the way back here on must be around the 26th of October. And it's interesting because I I try to always get ahead at this time of the year because if I can get ahead at this time of the year, I can go take some time off, but it also sets me up for some great success moving into the new year. And again, this applies to whether you work on a monthly basis, a yearly basis, however you plan your life, your goals, your dreams, your aspirations, you adapt and change it for how it makes sense for you. So, the things we're gonna explore today, and these will be quick, this will be a quick episode, really just here to get you thinking, you go do the work, you go do the reflecting, and I'll chat about a bit of some of the things I'm thinking about, but really this is what I'm doing to get ready for the new year, and I want to help you do the same. So you gotta do some of the work though, hey? It's not all me. Alright, so the prompts we're exploring today is the first question is what beliefs, habits, or excuses no longer serve you? And I think this is really important. Every year I like to, well, this year I'm actually going to the Philippines, we'll be there for about four weeks, and it's always I'm actually super excited. It's a time chance to switch off to shut down. We were there two years ago when I did six weeks there, and that was good to really just switch off and I did some amazing planning. I re-rebuilt, rescheduled, re-planned how my business was going to operate, some of the different personal goals that I had for the year. And last year we did the same thing, but we we we went, we were we didn't go to the Philippines, we were local, and you know, we actually spent two weeks basically just playing Boulders Gate 3 and absolutely smashed that game. But we spent a lot of time just reflecting, doing the things that we wanted to do. This is myself and Carla, and you know, it was it was nice to be able to do that and reflect. And that's usually when I can start to find what beliefs, what habits or excuses no longer serve. And this year I'm already starting to think about the things that have gone well, the things that haven't gone well, the things that have frustrated me, the things that have made me excited. And you know, every year I get to the end of the year and I realize I was like, gee, this works really well. Or where was I a year ago? And I was, I think it was in one of my uh Get Wide podcasts the other week. I I did a I together watching with you, um, if you're if you're watching my other content, I I filmed a video, I mean I filmed myself watching a video of myself from a year ago, and you could just hear in the voice the things that I was talking about, I was there wasn't a level of confidence there, there was things I was scared about, you know, unknowns. Whereas when I talk about it now, geez, I'm so much more confident, I can see what's worked, and I can understand that the all the things that I have been doing, even if in the moment you have the doubt, you have the the concerns, the struggles, and the haters and the people doubting you, you gotta back yourself. And I think that's the beliefs, habits, and excuses. For me, is you know, getting rid of the the sideline thoughts, getting rid of the backseat drivers, getting rid of all these doubts of your own beliefs, right? You know, I believe that I'm more than capable of achieving my dreams and aspirations that I have. And to date we have, we continue to make that happen. But there's moments there where you have the disbelief, and there's the moments there where you you get into these bad habits and ruts of listening to the the voices of other people or the peer pressures or thinking you're not good enough when a lot of the time we use those ex as excuses to not actually go get yourself out there and kick butt, and that's that's more that I'll be getting rid of like be spending time working out what are the things that trigger and making sure I figure out how to get rid of those things. So that's number one for me. The second thing is what can you let go of to lighten the load for next year? And this year I have let go of so much stuff, like you know, I hired Dion and he's basically taken over the core of the business, which is doing you know the picking, the posting, and he's been doing majority of the photos as well. And you start to think, well, Chris, what do you do? And I have spent so much time on BD, business development, learning to do different things, learning to bring more business into the business, I mean, upskilling other team members. I've been working with them, you know, very closely, planning what is the future of you know my business look like, and I've had to let go of a lot of things, which at the start was a bit scary. I I didn't know how that was gonna happen. It was a struggle, but I think with that it helps me really realize well, what else can I let go of to lighten the load? And some of these things can be like, you know, literally, you know, things that you've just built up and things you need to deal with versus physical things that you no longer need to be doing or things that you need to be outsourcing and letting go of in your life. This could be habits, this could be things that you know isn't necessary. One thing I need to let go of is some weight and get back into those grooves. But you know, I haven't really focused on that because I've been putting my attention to the things that have really made me feel the best version of myself, and I I think that's really important that you need to be looking at is like what are the things that you can be doing that give you your best version of yourself. Now, the best version of yourself is obviously also defined by yourself, and there's obviously things that can be better for you, which maybe you aren't really doing. But my point is, hmm, excuse me. My point is, you know, you want to be doing the things that you enjoy, you want to be doing the things that make you happy, you want to be doing the things that give you that fulfillment, that give you the joy, that give you the motivation to want to get up in the morning and go kick butt. So these are the types of things you should be thinking about, especially going into the new year, like you know, 2025 is done, leave those things behind. There's obviously been some wins, but there's been some things that obviously have not been right, right? Only you can answer that. I I have no idea. I don't know who I am talking to. You know, we these videos get 300, 500 views. I could be talking to someone that's watched every single episode, but you might be a new person here as well. So you've got to go do some of this work and think about it yourself, because I'm not here to give you the answers, I'm not here to hold your hand, I'm here to support you, yeah, sure. I'm here to give you some inspiration, I'm here to give you some pointers, but I've got my own things I've got to deal with as well. But we can do this together, and that's why I do invite if you do want to talk about things, if you want to, you know, share what you're working on or whatever, chuck it down in the comments below. If you're here on the YouTube, if you're here listening, make sure you jump over to the YouTube as well and yeah, just look up further your lifestyle and you'll find it. So the final point, keeping it short and sweet, this episode, the final point for this week is what are you actually ready to outgrow? This one I love because every year I always reflect on how am I going to be a better version of myself? How am I going to level up to the next year, right? And doing six weeks of you know, level up to be the better version of yourself, to have your best year yet. So, what are the things that you need to outgrow? Some of it could be immaturity, some of it could be bad habits, some of it could be things that no longer make sense in your life. Some of it it could actually be making decisions around those people are not helping me get me to where I want to be. It could be maybe you're ready for a new job, maybe you're ready to take on a new hobby, maybe you're ready to take on that business, maybe you want to start content, maybe you want to, you know, ask that boy or girl out, right? Maybe you want to actually take back control, right? And that's what it is. It's about what are the things that you need to say goodbye to in order to be that better version of yourself. Some of this could just be as simple as like, you know, getting back into a yoga routine, right? Because you're ready to outgrow being lazy, right? All these different things. They all apply to us in all these different ways. Again, I can't, I can't answer it for you, but you have to come at it with this excitement, this joy, like the way I am now, and be ready to really tackle it, like problem solve it. What are the things you're ready to outgrow, right? Spend some time, make a big list, go to a cafe, go down to the beach, go wherever it is that gets you into that peaceful place, whether it's a girl or a boy, you have your different ways of doing that. And figure out what are the things that you're not happy with? What are the things that are frustrating you? What are the things that are not working in your favor? What are the things that are triggering you? So what are you ready to outgrow? Right. And then start to think about well, how can we start to do this? Like, what's number one? What can I do? It's problem solving, right? When you learn how to be pro to problem solve and apply some critical thinking and look at things from different perspectives and frame them in better ways of understanding that it does make more sense, then you will make more sense of it and you'll realize how petty or how silly or how stupid some of these things are that you're doing that you need to outgrow. Now, I'm not here to say that you should be making excuses to say I'm gonna get rid of this because it does not make sense anymore. What I'm saying is you need to evaluate and you need to provide some level of evidence that confirms. We don't want to be getting into this, you know, slippery slope of finding validation, but you want to make sure that there's evidence-based feedback or whatever to be able to show that yes, this is no longer relevant for you to be able to be doing on a regular basis. It's time to outgrow it. So that's the three things I'm gonna leave you with. Not what you will do in 2026, but what are the things you're done with from 2025 as you move into a new season, as you move into a new era, as you move into a new month, as you move into a new milestone in your life, whatever it may be, what are the things that need to change, right? And how willing are you willing to do it? Comes back to you, right? So I'm gonna leave it there. We'll be back here again next week, doing another short and sharp episode as we move closer to the end of 2025, really just to equip you, give you some quick points and prompts to think about to really get you thinking about how do you make your next year or your next season your best year yet. That's really what I'm gonna do for you. Appreciate you being here. Take it easy, and I'll see you when I'm looking at you. Ciao
